Midtown at the Edge of Night — Atlanta from Above
There is a window — maybe eight minutes wide — between the last embers of sunset and the moment the sky goes fully dark. Atlanta's skyline lives for that window. I had the Mavic 3 Pro climbing steadily as the western horizon burned down from orange to deep violet, the city below waking up light by light. From above, Midtown reveals its geometry in a way no ground-level shot ever can: the dense canopy of Piedmont Park pressing right up against glass towers, the streets threading between them like lit rivers. The Bank of America Plaza's illuminated crown anchors the centre of the frame, flanked by King and Spalding's curved glass facade. I had about three batteries planned, but I got what I needed on the first. Edited in Adobe Lightroom — a touch of dehaze to cut through the atmospheric glow, lifted the shadows in the tree canopy just enough to give the city context without losing the drama of that sky.
