Downtown on Fire — Atlanta at Golden Hour
Some sunsets ask for patience. This one demanded it. I had the Mavic 3 Pro hovering high above downtown for nearly forty minutes, watching the sky transition through every shade between pink and deep amber before it finally committed to something worth capturing. The moment it did — that band of burning orange stacked against a violet sky, Stone Mountain faintly visible on the horizon — everything clicked into place at once. Downtown's three signature towers stand in silhouette almost perfectly framed against the glow, with the SkyView Ferris wheel already lit below, CNN Center anchoring the foreground, and the sprawl of the city stretching out in every direction. What I didn't expect was how much life was visible from up here — the stadium scoreboard still running, streets threading warm light through the grid. Shot with the Hasselblad wide sensor to keep the full sweep of the sky. In post, I kept the processing restrained — the sky didn't need help. Just a slight lift in the city shadows and a touch of clarity to pull out the building details without fighting the mood.
